The Festival

What else could it be but Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival? Yes, it's that time of the year again and I see that just about everyone up and down the East Coast is preparing to come to the fairgrounds, and even a few from west of here as well as abroad. I truly regret that I was unable to take the workshop with Judith MacKenzie McCuin (and in fact, have never really been able to take intensive spinning workshops with other spinning teachers as well). I'll just have to hope that I can find a copy of her new book (and maybe she could be persuaded to do a DVD as well?) . . .

I'm keeping a mental list of what to look for, so as to restrain myself. Especially since I have yet to make headway in my current stash. I'm thinking about taking one or two fleeces out to get these processed by one of the vendors. I'm going to look for dyed wool in 8 oz. or more batches that are on the jewel color side. Books, of course, and tools that make life easier.

Oh, and work - it's going better now, now that the kinks have been worked out. Now I need to see if I can pick up more long-term freelance work . . .
